Whenever a person goes to a restaurant, or shops at the grocery store, there is a very good chance that salmon is going to be on the menu, or available at the store. Salmon is a fish that is found in crispy cool waters in the northern hemisphere. It's silver on the outside, and is well known for its pink flesh on the inside. The flesh stays pink even after it is cooked. It's full of flavor and has a mild, inviting flavor that is loved by so many people. It is a fish that is very versatile. It can make a simple dish, or it can be dressed up for elegant dishes.

Baked Salmon

Typically, salmon isn't a fish that people fry. This makes the fish a very healthy choice for those looking to improve their diets, and eat healthier. There are many ways to cook the salmon that are healthy. A person could simply bake the salmon. They would dress the salmon in herbs and spices, maybe drizzle it with lemon, and then put it in foil and a baking pan. The fish can be baked either whole or cut into fillets. Either way, when the fish is ready to eat, the dinners will experience its fresh taste that goes will with a variety of sides, such as roasted vegetables.

Poached Salmon

Another healthy way to eat salmonis to eat it poached. Poaching is a process of taking the fish, and cooking it in shallow water. Many people do this when they don't want any added oils in with the fish. A person could also steam the fish. Simply wrap the fish in foil or parchment of some sort, and let it simmer in a cooking pot made for steaming. The flavor will come alive, and will be very inviting to eat.

Smoked Salmon

One way to eat the salmon healthy that will knock your socks off is to eat it smoked. The fish is put into a smoker and then after a few hours, the salmon meat will have the smoky flavor. You haven't lived until you've tasted smoked salmon! If you simply can't wait hours for the fish to be smoked, you could of course lay it on the grill. You can grill the fish either on an outdoor grill, or a grill that is made for the kitchen.

Salmon is such a delicious fish to eat. You can eat it whole or you can cut it up to eat with a tossed salad topping. You can buy the fish fresh, frozen, or you can eat it right out of a can, much like tuna fish. It's full of Omega fatty acids that are good for your heart and your mental mood. It takes the flavoring of herbs and spices well, and is very tasty when marinated with mustards also. You can find many salmon recipes on the internet, and in books. It's one of the number one fish choices around the world!
